Managing Directors

Doug Alexander

M&T '83, Member of M&T Executive Board

Mr. Alexander was an original member of the advisory board of Actua Corporation (formerly named ICG Group, Inc.), a multi-vertical cloud technology company. Mr. Alexander joined Actua full-time in September 1997 as Managing Director and was appointed President in January 2009 where he served until December 2017. During his tenure at Actua, Mr. Alexander served as CEO of WiseWire Technologies, which was acquired by Lycos; CEO of ICG Europe; CEO of Traffic.com, which was acquired by Navteq; and CEO of Channel Intelligence, which was acquired by Google. He is currently a Board Director of Amkor Technology (Nasdaq: AMKR).

Mr. Alexander has served on the boards of directors for GovDelivery, Procurian, and Bolt. Mr. Alexander is also a member of the Management & Technology Executive Board at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Alexander holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Martin Lautman

M&T '11 Parent, Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurial Marketing at Wharton

Dr. Martin Lautman served as the former Chairman and CEO of GfK Custom Research North America (Nuremburg, Germany). Prior to joining GfK, Dr. Lautman was the Senior Managing Director of ARBOR in Media, Pennsylvania, where he was the Engagement Director for 500+ branding, new products, marketing effectiveness assessment and strategy projects.

Dr. Lautman works as a Venture Partner in three early stage venture funds, and as a Managing Partner for Musketeer Capital. He has served on multiple boards of public and private companies both for PE-funded and independent companies.

Dr. Lautman received his B.S. degree in Political Science from Brooklyn College and Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Psychology (Behavioral Economics) from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a graduate of the Executive Education Program of The Harvard Business School and is a member of Young President’s Organization (YPO) Gold. His three son have 6 Penn and Wharton degrees.
